Nordlogway: Logistics operations focused on the customer — today and tomorrow

Behind the coordination of warehouses, operations tailored to the millimetre for each client, and a system that never stops, lies the work of the operations team. We spoke with Miguel Ángel Castillo, Operations Director at Nordlogway, to understand how the day-to-day is managed at one of the most flexible and customer-oriented logistics operators in the industry.
Custom-designed logistics
The Operations Director's main responsibility is to ensure everything runs smoothly. From launching new operations and choosing the right warehouse based on the type of goods, to training teams, coordinating human resources between centres, and maintaining constant communication with both clients and collaborators.
Miguel Ángel explains, “The key lies in adaptation and synergy between our warehouses. Every client has unique needs, and at Nordlogway we work to deliver a real, tailored response.”
What makes Nordlogway special? The answer is clear: dedication to the customer. “Our flexibility and responsiveness make the difference,” he says. There are no standard solutions here. Each operation is built on dialogue, trust, and quick decision-making.
Sustainability, quality, and technology
“We’re committed to sustainability and actively suggest improvements to our clients to make their processes more efficient and responsible.”
From the quality department, all warehouses are audited four times a year, and the 5S methodology is applied as a standard for order, cleanliness, and efficiency.
On the technology front, the team stays constantly up to date:
“We attend trade fairs, industry events, and training courses to identify advancements we can then apply to our clients’ operations.”
The rise of ecommerce and single-item orders
Online sales and the growth of single-item orders pose a real challenge for logistics. The solution lies in constant process improvement and cost optimisation.
“It’s a continuous learning process. It forces us to be faster, more precise, and to innovate constantly.”
To build trust, the key is reliability: “We have a very high accuracy rate in order preparation — both in quantity and completeness — and strict stock control. This allows us to be a solid logistics partner for our clients,” says Castillo.
Looking ahead
Nordlogway is committed to controlled growth based on market demand. They already have specialised warehouses for food (human and animal), pharma, APQ, retail, and picking, among others. And in the future, they may add temperature-controlled facilities to further expand their service capabilities.
The supply chain has been impacted by international conflicts and slowed maritime transport.
“In these situations, we advise our clients to maintain safety stocks to ensure business continuity while things stabilise.”
Proprietary technology to boost efficiency
Nordlogway uses a fully adaptable proprietary WMS that helps optimise pallet movements, manage space occupancy, and prepare waves of orders, among other features.
“It helps us improve daily efficiency and better adapt to each client’s needs.”
Taking the leap to 5PL
Among Nordlogway’s mid-term goals is an ambitious one: to offer 5PL services, implementing complex logistics strategies with advanced technologies such as Big Data and artificial intelligence. All to continue delivering intelligent, accurate, and customer-focused logistics.
